ALERT: All US Fishermen, Catch 'Em While you Can, Possile Fishing Ban Ahead
Date Posted: Tuesday 09-Mar-2010[Is the grand plan to eliminate all naturally available food sources (much less fun and relaxation) to the American people, unless it is bought in a government market, coming soon to a shopping strip near you? Hear that sound? That's my dad, rolling in his grave along with multitudes of other Fishermen. Sands]

Obama administration will accept no more public input for federal fishery strategy
The Obama administration will accept no more public input for a federal strategy that could prohibit U.S. citizens from fishing the nation's oceans, coastal areas, Great Lakes, and even inland waters.
This announcement comes at the time when the situation supposedly still is "fluid" and the Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force still hasn't issued its final report on zoning uses of these waters.
That's a disappointment, but not really a surprise for fishing industry insiders who have negotiated for months with officials at the Council on Environmental Quality and bureaucrats on the task force. These angling advocates have come to suspect that public input into the process was a charade from the beginning.
"When the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) completed their successful campaign to convince the Ontario government to end one of the best scientifically managed big game hunts in North America (spring bear), the results of their agenda had severe economic impacts on small family businesses and the tourism economy of communities across northern and central Ontario," said Phil Morlock, director of environmental affairs for Shimano.
"Now we see NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and the administration planning the future of recreational fishing access in America based on a similar agenda of these same groups and other Big Green anti-use organizations, through an Executive Order by the President. The current U.S. direction with fishing is a direct parallel to what happened in Canada with hunting: The negative economic impacts on hard working American families and small businesses are being ignored.
"In spite of what we hear daily in the press about the President's concern for jobs and the economy and contrary to what he stated in the June order creating this process, we have seen no evidence from NOAA or the task force that recreational fishing and related jobs are receiving any priority."
Consequently, unless anglers speak up and convince their Congressional representatives to stop this bureaucratic freight train, it appears that the task force will issue a final report for "marine spatial planning" by late March, with President Barack Obama then issuing an Executive Order to implement its recommendations — whatever they may be.
Led by NOAA's Jane Lubchenco, the task force has shown no overt dislike of recreational angling, but its indifference to the economic, social and biological value of the sport has been deafening.
Additionally, Lubchenco and others in the administration have close ties to environmental groups who would like nothing better than to ban recreational angling. And evidence suggests that these organizations have been the engine behind the task force since before Obama issued a memo creating it last June.
As ESPN previously reported, WWF, Greenpeace, Defenders of Wildlife, Pew Environment Group and others produced a document entitled "Transition Green" shortly after Obama was elected in 2008. What has happened since suggests that the task force has been in lockstep with that position paper.
Then in late summer, just after he created the task force, these groups produced "Recommendations for the Adoption and Implementation of an Oceans, Coasts, and Great Lakes National Policy." This document makes repeated references to "overfishing," but doesn't once reference recreational angling, its importance, and its benefits, both to participants and the resource.
Additionally, some of these same organizations have revealed their anti-fishing bias by playing fast and loose with "facts," in attempts to ban tackle containing lead in the United States and Canada.
That same tunnel vision, in which recreational angling and commercial fishing are indiscriminately lumped together as harmful to the resource, has persisted with the task force, despite protests by the angling industry.
As more evidence of collusion, the green groups began clamoring for an Executive Order to implement the task force's recommendations even before the public comment period ended in February. Fishing advocates had no idea that this was coming.
Perhaps not so coincidentally, the New York Times reported on Feb. 12 that "President Obama and his team are preparing an array of actions using his executive power to advance energy, environmental, fiscal and other domestic policy priorities."
Morlock fears that "what we're seeing coming at us is an attempted dismantling of the science-based fish and wildlife model that has served us so well. There's no basis in science for the agendas of these groups who are trying to push the public out of being able to fish and recreate.
"Conflicts (user) are overstated and problems are manufactured. It's all just an excuse to put us off the water."
In the wake of the task force's framework document, the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) and its partners in the U.S. Recreational Fishing & Boating Coalition against voiced their concerns to the administration.
"Some of the potential policy implications of this interim framework have the potential to be a real threat to recreational anglers who not only contribute billions of dollars to the economy and millions of dollars in tax revenues to support fisheries conservation, but who are also the backbone of the American fish and wildlife conservation ethic," said CSF President Jeff Crane.
Morlock, a member of the CSF board, added, "There are over one million jobs in America supported coast to coast by recreational fishing. The task force has not included any accountability requirements in their reports for evaluating or mitigating how the new policies they are drafting will impact the fishing industry or related economies.
"Given that the scope of this process appears to include a new set of policies for all coastal and inland waters of the United States, the omission of economic considerations is inexcusable."
This is not the only access issue threatening the public's right to fish, but it definitely is the most serious, according to Chris Horton, national conservation director for BASS.
"With what's being created, the same principles could apply inland as apply to the oceans," he said. "Under the guise of 'marine spatial planning' entire watersheds could be shut down, even 2,000 miles up a river drainage from the ocean.
"Every angler needs to be aware because if it's not happening in your backyard today or tomorrow, it will be eventually.
"We have one of the largest voting blocks in the country and we need to use it. We must not sit idly by."

" There is an agenda here, farmers are being forced off their land, extreme gun control, take away the ability to feed yourself, destroy your countries manufacturing bases, create foreign debt. Result= do what govt. says or starve! "
Maybe the ANC has taught your politicos South African looting strategy. I am shocked as it is identical and the reason why our people emigrate to AUS !
Our farms are going to be "nationalised" as a "national treasure" and those who bought the land will become Govt. tenants.
The new tactic and wording is used as their first "Expropriation Bill" was kicked out by appeal to Constitution Court. Good Jurors since resigned and ZUMA has appointed his henchmen to this bench.
This new ANC supporting Judiciary may rule in their favour. Our begging bowl Food Aid - is coming USA !
Our guns have been been returned to govt (by law) for destruction - no compensation (altho" promised) and the stupid, gullible gun owners fell for it. Handed them in meekly to Police stations. Unbelievably law abiding WHITE citizens as the black criminals remain armed with illegal AK's and murder whites in the homes.
This while SILENT GENOCIDE is taking place with FARM MURDERS - farmers killed and tortured brutally, nothing stolen and it is called "crime." It is known to be ANC supported - you heard Malema sing "Kill the Boer (farmer)" Brazenly and on TV which Zuma said is not "illegal" yet Court Verdict "Hate Speech" in 1990's under Mandela.
AfricanCrisis has many articles. Read and weep.
Black people are pastoral not agriculture farmers. Their cattle are wealth and they would rather starve in drought that slaughter them.
You see many dead cattle in African drought periods on News.
Mines are to be nationalised as ANC Cadres vie for their share. Its becoming a free for all without any shame.
Fishing is depleted as Japanese and Chinese Vacuum Cleaners suck up our Atlantic Fish.
Abalone is harvested by Chinese Syndicates so our sea bed is dying. China is ANC financier !
SO yes - politicians are the damn sewage pits of any nation. We keep voting them in and say "go ahead" rape and loot us till there is nothing left.
We are sheeple.

"Do you even have a CLUE on why our fish stocks are in decline worldwide?"
Good riddance to your pretentious, prissy comments.
See above - JAPS & CHINESE are emptying the sea.
ALSO our precious Rhino killed for the horn used as their VIAGRA. May they have E D forever after !
Our elephants killed for their Ivory for Mah Jong and Stamps. These magnificent Mammals can live to 80 years and have a brain larger than a human. Their memory is legendary. Truly God's masterpiece.
These are the evil nations with their weird appetites and culture - paying kickbacks to politicians who send their ill gotten gains - OFFSHORE.
May those banks all go bankrupt - please !
Countries with real democracy - not African style - can vote out the useless leeches.
AFRICANS are doomed with Liberation Politics and Presidents- for life. Voting is a joke. They die in office by the might of their army and police.
Capitalists love Africa for its minerals.
Africans are a nuisance in fact.

This fishing ban is another federal intrusion into our private lives. Oh, and the old mercury scare isn\'t going to work! How do you know that there is mercury in fish?! Folks don\'t believe anything that the feds tell you! Does anyone remember the SOY craze?! Man boobs and girls getting cervical and breast cancer? Wow! Now there\'s a real fed hack job. The feds aren\'t saying squat about SOY these days!
Raise your own food. Reload your own ammunition. Convert your car to pure hydrogen combustion. Use hydrogen for electricity. Buy gold for exchange, but food is better. And ask God for help you\'re going to need His help! Big!
Tell the feds to take a hike. See ya! I\'m going fishing... :)

This is happening in Australia too, the govt. has established heaps of Marine Parks (no fishing) A license is now required for citizens to recreational fish in the ocean $50 a year. There is an exception if you take you kids with you and they are under 16 yrs. of age you don't have to have a license. Gun laws are VERY tight too. There is an agenda here, farmers are being forced off their land, extreme gun control, take away the ability to feed yourself, destroy your countries manufacturing bases, create foreign debt. Result= do what govt. says or starve!

What a poorly written and opinionated article. Why did you even bother? Instead of quoting any facts or statistics or even the real reason this is happening, you launch off into hyperbole and fear-mongering.
The rest of your readers may fall for this level of ignorance and nonsense, but not me. Do you even have a CLUE on why our fish stocks are in decline worldwide? Or the level of catches that are being reported by American fisherman? Or why some species are now nearly non-existent and impossible to find?
Do you even CARE? I\'d guess not, as the article you shared does not even bother to mention a single salient point on WHY this is being considered. Instead, you\'re shoveling hyperbole and fear-mongering like everyone else and completely and totally ignoring the FACTS.

What does the Bible say about the "Endtimes"? Men will not be able to make rational decisions, even when those decisions are based on their own best interests. I think we have arrived. Soon it will be time for all the macho acting males and he-shes to put up or shut up. Will they choose to fight standing up or serve kneeling down?

Yet another piece of junk media that gets people scared.
Considering that 100% of fish tested recently in streams throughout America showed toxic levels of mercury, you people should have more sense than to eat them.
At least if you purchase them through approved sources then there is at least some testing occurring.
Do you test your fish for contaminates?

I wondered about them "culling" bison, deer, elk, etc - and this fits right in - let's make sure that we Americans have no ability to feed ourselves when the (contrived) food shortages are instituted.
How many businesses associated with a pastime that connects Americans with the Earth and it's bounty, will have to close completely - all of them? What about people living on the edge of hunger already who depend on what fish they are able to catch to feed themselves and their families? More food stamps for them?
They also want to regulate growing food in your backyard as well - how about it's now illegal to EAT because if you are ALIVE then you contribute CO2 to GLOBAL WARMING and therefore the earth is better off with you dead.
Codex Alimentarius - look it up if you need to - they want to treat nutrients as TOXINS - so if a nutrient has and effect on health (such as stopping rickets or scury) then no supplement can contain more than 1/10 the effective dose...and all meat must be treated with sub-clinical antibiotics and growth hormone, and all produce must be irradiated - to take away what little nutrition remains after the factory-farmed food has made it to your table...
Also water is a greenhouse gas, so we need to lock it all up so you don't get any of that either. Your breath contains measurable water vapor therefore your breath is killing the earth. The earth can only support the rich power-elite and their (necessary evil) slaves and minions, right?
Isn't there legislation about how they will now control all the water in the USA - even a pond you put in yourself on your own property - all waterways, etc?
Getting pretty tired of hearing all the things people can't do any more, that they have enjoyed since...forever. What WILL we be allowed to eat - Soylent Green? Grind half of us up, feed us to the other half, repeat until population is down to the Georgia Guidestones' guidelines?
Since the wars, lab-produced pandemics, pollution, depleted uranium, and fluoridation, etc are not depopulating us fast enough, they will not just starve us all to death and be rid of us once and for all.
Those damn teeming masses - USELESS EATERS, DRINKERS, and BREATHERS - they gotta go. That's you and me.
When and where is the next HAARP induced earthquake going to be? Coming soon to a city near you.
Welcome to HELL

I think this article is scare tactic more than anything based in reality.
Banning fishing isn't sensical and I think even the Obama administration knows that. What do we have conservation programs for? Imagine what would happen to the ecosystems when no fish are being caught and they just breed and breed and breed.
More damage than anything else.
These foundatinos like WWF, etc.. are clamouring for attention and not really anything else, which doesn't say allot about them.
Go eat fish and kill animals. You have to in order to survive and if they outlawed that, then people with no money will die. This is all nonsense.
