[In the light of the earthquake in Haiti recently, it is worth reminding oneself about this nation and how they got to where they are now.

Haiti is really a microcosm of what Africa will be like in 200 years time - I'm talking about the developed parts of Africa like the southern part of South Africa. This is where black hatred for whites brought them. 200 years later, they whine when whites don't help them enough.

Take note that in its day Haiti was a fabulous place. Actually, after Haiti fell from grace and became a black hell hole, Cuba was the next Jewel in the region until Communism came along.

The lesson here is simple: Countries can be fabulous and wonderful and have great success and lure... until the people choose the wrong path. Thereafter they become rat holes ... for as long as the people are stupid and mad.

This is a sober lesson for South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Nigeria, Kenya and many other countries in Africa. The thinking is: Because these nations were great once... they'll easily remain great. NOT!!!! The truth is, they might not see greatness for the next 1,000 years. Easily. Read history. Countries and entire regions also GO BACKWARDS if the people are mad and stupid.

Here is a little history lesson definitely not taught in our schools today…

In the 1700s Haiti was called the "Jewel of the Caribbean," and supplied about 40% of the world's sugar.
In 1791 the government of France passed legislation to phase out slavery in its Caribbean colonies and grant the former Negro slaves citizenship.
But rather than becoming citizens, Haiti's Negro population mass-murdered all whites and Mulattoes who could not flee the island in time.

The Haitian revolution dominated America's debate over slavery. While both the North and the South agreed that slavery should be ended, Southerners and a large percentage of Northerners universally opposed having a large population of freed slaves living in their midst. The Haitian "Revolution" was fresh in every one's mind.
Fast-forward to 1915. The "Jewel of the Caribbean" is by now a desolate cesspool, exporting almost no sugar. The United States decided to "take up the white man's burden" and sent the US Marine Corps to rebuild Haiti's infrastructure and feed its starving population. The United States gave huge amounts of money to Haiti and oversaw the building of 1,000 miles of road, telephone lines, modernized its port, and helped Haiti to start exporting sugar once again. The US also put an end to the thousands of bandits along Haiti's border with the Dominican Republic.
The US left in 1934 at the request of the then stabilized and very ungrateful Haitian government.
Haiti immediately sank straight back into total desolation and strife.
In 1973 the United States once again began playing a huge role in Haiti, giving the island huge sums of money in handouts each year. In 1994 the Clinton administration once again sent the US military to Haiti to rebuild the island's infrastructure. In 1995 the Peace Corps went to Haiti in large numbers to train the Haitians job skills. The US government spent almost one billion dollars providing food and job training to the Haitians between '95 and '99. So when Obama says that Haiti has our "full, unwavering support," they have already had our full support since 1915.

Haiti has had 200 years but like other countries ruled by Africans, NOTHING came of its potential.

I would like to say to anyone implying that the Haitians have the right to aid and that whites only want its resources... Well, what did they do to utilize those resources in the past 200 years? China sends guns to Darfur and Zimbabwe and they definitely want Africa's resources, but I don't see any of you complaining about that.

The whites didn't slaughter the original inhabitants in a genocidal rage, those who died, died from diseases and other reasons. Rather than accepting citizenship, Haitians did commit genocide in the early 1800s and did so in a very brutal Rwandan style and true to their nature, butchered all whites and mulattoes (in SA terms "coloureds"). Present day Haitians are basically colonisers themselves and those resources aren't really theirs either.

It was a white colony that became a black colony. Anyone who wants to say that colonialists (referring to whites) must get out of Haiti, will have to admit that black Haitians should also get out of Haiti and go back to Africa where the descendants of those who captured and sold them into slavery are waiting for some more handouts.

When the earthquake occurred foreign helpers mentioned there weren't even bulldozers around and people had to be dug out of the rubble by hand.

Dozens of nations on earth have accomplished a hell of a lot in a mere 50 years.

The colonial Haiti was a jewel of slavery and White racism.

Alexander Duma`s father was one of the illegal children of the White French man and Black slave, who was his girlfriend for a long time in colonial Haiti.
His father SOLD all HIS children from this Black woman into slavery. Later he bought back one of them (Duma`s grandfather) and gave him some education.

So the revolte of Haiti Blacks under the slogans of militant Black racism in 1790-1800s is pretty understandable.

Note also that unlike of the independent USA Haiti had to pay to his former colonial masters a huge contribution (150 mn Franks since 1825) which far exceeded the ressources of the local economy.

Of course the slavery and French racket-style contribution arent the only causes of what happened in Haiti in the last 200 years. But is should be taken into account too.

This article seems to insinuate that the black population of Haiti is responsible for its own ill fortune. But this could not have happened without help from the white outside. Many writers are saying that Haiti\'s earthquake was artificially induced (scalar weaponry), without affecting neighbouring DR. How odd that US Southern Command\'s disaster preparedness exercise for Haiti took place the day before the earthquake, putting them in a prime position to take over the country. Haiti also reportedly has a lot of oil and gold in its ground. While island-born thugs have enjoyed posts of power, they are just puppets serving those outside interests who perpetuate Haiti\'s chaos and suffering.

Apparently if a country will not willingly become a sweatshop for United Fruit or Dole Pineapple then it is automatically considered a heathen collection of savages in your cross-burning world. This article glosses over a lot of the history of Haiti, and is quite revisionist in other aspects.

First, just as the US had a right to stage its own revolution to overthrow a European colonial power, so too did Haiti (and any other colonist state). To suggest that the French decided to abolish slavery in Haiti, and THEN the revolution occurred misstates history. Haiti was in fact the first slave colony to ever revolt to win its independence. No doubt the revolution, taking the form of slave rebellions, commenced first. The French, in order to try to appease and placate the slave populace, then renounced slavery in order to try to maintain its already dying \"empire.\" In fact, this very mentality is evident up through WWII and into the cold war, when France tried drastically (and again failed) to hold on to its empire in Viet Nam.

Secondly, the Civil War was not fought over slavery (Lincoln pushed this agenda late in the war to bolster support in the North to continue the War); it was, from an American point of view, a war over States\' Rights and the limited role of the Federal Government. This runs contrary to the typical American myth taught in high school and college, but the South had every right to leave the union, given the unfair tariff policies set up by the North when it came to trading for commodities that the South was producing, most notably cotton.

On a larger scale, the Civil War was actually a European War, with colonial powers, the English and the French (yet again), vying to \"divide and conquer\" the US by splitting it in two to weaken its growing global influence. It was only through the actions of the Romanovs and Russian navy that the US was saved from being taken over, as the Russians thwarted the British from invading the North from Canada and the French from invading the South from Mexico.

Unfortunately, the Civil War was a lose-lose proposition for the US. If the South wins, the US and Confederacy are weakened states that would probably have been taken over by the European powers eventually. If the North wins, it pushes the ascendancy of Federal power to its unnatural and unintended position over the various States that brought it into being with the original Articles of Confederation and later the US Constitution. The tail would be wagging the dog, in other words...

Thirdly, it\'s revisionist history to suggest that the US altruistically went into Haiti to try to stabilize it; this on the heels of the Spanish-American War, where the US sank its own ship - the Maine - to trigger a war of aggression needed to secure strongholds in the Caribbean - Cuba and Puerto Rico - and in the Pacific - the Philippines; all conveniently under the guise of the Monroe Doctrine and Manifest Destiny. The US\'s entree into Haiti furthered these same aims, as well as securing a ready source of many natural resources not available in the continental US.

Lastly, the author ignores both times that the US has gone in and forcibly removed a democratically elected Haitian leader (Aristide) when he refused to heed US demands. So much for the US\'s desire to promote \"democracy.\" Further, the recent post-earthquake movement of US troops into Haiti is especially alarming given that, unbeknownst to most people, Haiti is rich in oil and gold deposits. Yet again, we see the real agenda of the US and its military is not altruism, but resource \"diplomacy.\" The US military intends to stay in Haiti for a very long time...
